IMPORTANT NOTICE
In the last 2 weeks the club has received 3 complaints, including 1 from the police, about ill - disciplined and aggressive riding.
The complaints relate to groups of riders on Sundays - some of whom were wearing Wheelers kit. We do not know if the complaints
were accurate or exaggerated but they represent someones view and it does not reflect well on the club.
To avoid any further criticism and to ensure the safety of members and other road users this is a request to ride sensibly and
safely, particularly when in a large group of riders, and to be aware of other road traffic.
In general groups should ride no more than 2 abreast and move into single file when there is passing traffic. If it is a
particularly large group it is sensible to split the group into 2 or more sub groups to enable traffic to pass quickly and safely.
Ride leaders should ensure that everyone on group rides, especially any newcomers, knows the guidance about group riding and complies with them.
If the police decide that we, as a club, are regularly causing traffic problems they may rescind their permission to hold our Time Trials on local roads.
So please be aware of how you ride and consider other road users.

Chairman

First time we have tried this style of TT and the response seemed positive. A great turn out of 9 times with a few additional rides choosing

The winning team of Luke, Tim & Mike was a text-book trio from the groupings we had originally planned, so well done.
If any one has an idea for a quirky TT or comments on this years series of events then please let us know (via the committee). We
normally meet to agree on the next season's events in October you you all have a few weeks to think about it.
Don't forget next week is the Haugh Woods Hill Climb - we meet in the car park at the top of the hill.

A convincing win for Ian tonight, the only person under the hour, despite the windy conditions. Sara was the first lady, with an excellent time just under 1:05 (a PB I believe)
Well done to all riders, it was tough on the home leg into the wind!!!
Stuart Edinborough is looking for a RECORDER to assist him represent the Club with the timekeeping on a section of the Welsh 12 hour on 3rd JUly
This is a clerical job which also requires numeracy. It is a more complicated job, especially in a 12-hour, and carries much greater responsibility.
The recorder is the person who writes down the times of the riders, a job which is normally done by the timekeeper himself in a club event but in an open event the timekeeper is busy just noting the times, not calculating the results and writing them down – that is what the recorder does.
In the Welsh CA ‘12’ there are a dozen timekeeping teams around the finishing circuit, and Dave Unsworth (who also has years of experience, especially in acting as a recorder in 12-hour events) and I are one of these teams.
However, Dave is away on 3rd July when the event takes place this year, which is why I am looking for a stand-in recorder ...
Cheers- Stuart (tel. 01432 269700)

"Come and try it" 10mile Time Trial - 16th June
Once again the Hereford Wheelers will be running another "Come and try it" 10-mile time trial, as part of National Bike Week
, on Thursday 16th June.
The event will take place on the Allensmore course, with the event HQ located in the Village Hall.
Sign-on starts at 6pm, with the first rider away at 7pm. Entry costs just £2 on the night. Parental consent forms are required for under 18's, and these can downloaded
from here.
Event organizer, Andy Jones, is seeking some assistance with running the event on the day. We are looking for 8-10 people to
volunteer to be course marshals (more the merrier), and further 2-3 people to assist with time/results running. In addition we are seeking Kitchen help and also someone
with calligraphy skills to help with the certificates on the night.
You may possibly race every week or be the occasional club rider / social member where you just turn up and everything is organised.
This may possibly be the time to give something back to the Club (in doing so give the usual organisers a rest) whilst trying to attract and chat to new members.
Lastly, if you can put up a poster somewhere where you think it will attract some interest, then please do (available on Thurs T/T nights,
or download a copy here)
and please encourage anyone you know to "come and try it.
If anyone can offer help please contact Andy either by email comeandtryit@herefordwheelers.com or by phone on
